Special days

At Velam Sree Maha Ganapathi Temple, devotees observe several sacred days throughout the year to honor and worship the divine deities. Ganapathi’s special days include Vinayaka Chaturthi in Chingam, Thiruvonam in Thulaam, Vishu in Medam, the first Friday of the Malayalam month, and Vidyarambham. For Lord Shiva, significant days are Thiruvathira in Dhanu, Shivaratri in Kumbham, the first Monday of the Malayalam month, and Pradosham. Lord Krishna is especially revered on Ashtami Rohini in Chingam, the first Wednesday of Dhanu, every first Thursday of the Malayalam month, Ekadashi, and Thiruvonam Nakshatra each Malayalam month. Devi is honored on Karthika in Vrischikam, and on Tuesdays and Fridays. Additionally, the consecration days of Meena 20 and Meena 24 are important for temple visits. Join us in celebrating these auspicious days to seek divine blessings and partake in the spiritual vibrance of our temple.
